Hyundai is all set to launch new Elantra in India on August 13th 2012. The Elantra is available only with petrol engines in global markets but in India it will also get a better tuned version of the 1.6-litre diesel engine used in the Verna fluidic.The petrol Elantra is powered by 1.8-litre unit producing 147bhp and 181Nm of torque, while the diesel 1.6-litre churns out 126bhp and 260Nm of torque.
The new Elantra comes loaded with below features:
- A touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and Bluetooth.
- Heated door mirrors and steering wheel.
- Ventilated front seats, electric front seats with driver’s seat memory function.
- Dual zone climate control, cruise control.
- Leather upholstery.
- Keyless entry, start/stop function.
- Front and rear parking sensors.
- Automatic hill hold function.
- Panoramic sunroof.
Two airbags and ABS will be standard across all models; top-variant will have six-airbags, cruise control, electric front seats, push start and many more features.
The sedan will now compete with the Skoda Laura, Chevy Cruze, VW Jetta, Renault Fluence and Toyota Altis.
Colour options- black, white, maharaja red, sleek silver, twilight blue and bronze.
